The cast of the upcoming MBC drama ‘Can’t be Bothered to Date, But Don’t Want to be Lonely!’ have gathered together for their first script reading!
On May 20, Ji Hyun Woo and Kim So Eun have been confirmed as the main leads for the said drama. They will be joined by actors Park Gun Il, B1A4’s Gongchan, Son Ji Hyun, Kim San Ho, Cha Soo Yeon, Noh Ji Hoon, Ha Young, Son Ji Hyun, Han Ji Wan, and more.
Aside from the casts, scriptwriter Jo Jin Gook and director Lee Hyun Joo also joined the first script reading on June 25.
The drama tells the story of young people residing at a co-living house. They do want to date, but they don't want to be serious. They prefer being free, but they also don't want to be lonely.
Ji Hyun Woo will be playing as Cha Kang Woo, a single man in his 30's that works as a psychiatrist. He is full of curiosity about human beings. Even though he is an attractive man, he is afraid of having romantic relationships due to trauma from his past. A woman appears in front of him and he begins to have feelings for her.
Kim So Eun will be playing as Lee Na Eun, a freelance copy editor. She is generous to good people, but she does not tolerate injustice. She hopes to become a novelist one day. Due to her situation, she has not had a boyfriend in 4 years. She begins to stay at the co-living house and develops romantic feelings.
During the script reading, the two main lead actors were able to portray realistic chemistry while portraying their characters, so did the supporting casts.
“Throughout the refreshing first script reading, the set was full of laughter, and the actors worked with great passion to immerse themselves in their roles,” Soompi reported.
‘Can’t be Bothered to Date, But Don’t Want to be Lonely!’ is expected to air on December 2020!
