WEEEKLY Confirms First Comeback This October
Formerly known as PlayM Girls and FAVE Girls, rookie K-pop group WEEEKLY is an all-girl group that consists of seven members under the umbrella of PlayM Entertainment. WEEEKLY comprises members: Soojin, Jiyoon, Monday, Soeun, Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa.
In a Kpopstarz report, members Lee Soojin, Park Soeun, Shin Jiyoon, and pre-debut member Park Haelin, are from the survival show called 'MIXNINE,' where they participated as contestants.
Furthermore, WEEEKLY is the first girl band from PlayM Entertainment, coming after Apink. Shin Jiyoon, Park Soeun, and Lee Soojin are the only group members on the original pre-debut lineup.
On May 7 of this year, the agency revealed that the girl group is preparing for their debut in June. Four days after, the agency stunned the group's fans as they shared its new name WEEEKLY and new members. On June 11, a teaser delivered the schedule of the band's first extended play entitled 'We Are,' which was in full fuel for a release for June 30.
Following this, on June 30, WEEEKLY officially made known their first-ever mini-album 'We Are' with its lead single called 'Tag Me (@Me).' Moreover, the said album is recorded as the most significant number of copies sold by a rookie girl group in 2020, so far.
Additionally, on August 20, the group's official Daum Café posted that the official fandom name will be changed to "Dailee," which solely means "without Dailee (Daily), WEEEKLY cannot exist."
The group's agency, PlayM Entertainment, made the final announcement of the fandom name change on August 23.
THE UPCOMING COMEBACK
According to Soompi, a credible source from PlayM Entertainment revealed to Joy News 24 that WEEEKLY aims for a comeback this year. "Weeekly is preparing an album with the goal of an October comeback," the source said.
Meanwhile, the group's upcoming return will mark their first comeback, four months after its debut.
