Everyone who is a fan knows and identifies the most famous nickname of Red Velvet's Seulgi- "Gom Seulgi" in Korean, or "Bear Seulgi" in English.

Surprisingly, Seulgi opposed the comparison entirely in the latest YouTube interview with Allure Korea — and she has a fair argument to make. Seulgi earned a highly prestigious position this September as a fashion cover model for Allure Korea. She even got to shoot an interview with them on YouTube as part of the experience.

Allure had a few lingering questions for the beauty, of course — like the one about her adorable animal comparisons. Seulgi has indeed been linked to a bear or teddy bear, and it's simple to see that because she is sweet and cuddly, that is, like a teddy bear. And just almost as cutely awkward off-stage, much like a sluggish bear meandering through the wilderness. But after years of having the title, Seulgi admitted that she doesn't think that it describes her anyway.

It may be challenging to picture Seulgi as some other animal apart from a sweet bear. However, when she clarified which other creature suited her best, fans had to concede she had a valid point. This is not Seulgi's first attempt bringing up the analogy. Seulgi had mentioned the same topic in a March 2019 question and answered session with Japanese magazine Ray — adding extra stress on the "baby" tiger part. (via Koreaboo)

In her conversation with Allure Korea, Seulgi explained that she most emulates her parents, rather than any species. But Seulgi also stated in her interview with Ray magazine that her father resembles a tiger's image. So it would seem, after all, that "(Baby) Tiger Seulgi" really is far more appropriate than "Bear Seulgi."

Furthermore, the title not only suits her appearance, but it also suits her character. Baby tigers are both fearsome and endearing — as is the famous "duality" of Seulgi. She has a kitty-like charm on screen and stage.
