"Love Revolution's" cast partnered with Dazed magazine for pictorial and interview!
The upcoming original drama of Kakao M, "Love Revolution," is adapted from a popular webtoon of the same name and talks about love and friendship. The story focuses on the couple Gong Ju Young, a lovable and cute student who love at first sight with an unsociable Wang Ja Rim. Also starring in the drama are Lee Ruby, Park Ji Hoon, Jung Da Eun, The Boyz's Younghoon, Go Chan Bi, WJSN's Dayoung, and Ahn Do Gyu.
Park Ji Hoon takes the lead role of Gong Ju Young and will be partnered with Lee Ruby, playing the role of Wang Ja Rim.
During an interview, Park Ji Hoon shared his emotion about playing a webtoon role that he loved to read. He said that he felt great about getting the lead role, yet he was scared and felt pressured.
It was Lee Ruby's first time acting as a leading role in a drama. She shared that it was terrific and honoring to portray the part of a webtoon's main characters she loved reading. She also felt the pressure if she will be able to do it well. She even had an acting teacher who coached her and prepared for her role; she studied her script at home if she could not leave the house.
Younghoon of The Boyz plays as Lee Kyung Woo, the sub-male lead, Gong Ju Young's longtime friend who is playful and sweet yet aloof. He shared that the most memorable scene for him was when he was distressed because he also had feelings for his friend's girlfriend, Wang Ja Rim. He also added that Gong Ju Young is a friend whom he wants to stay to protect him, but Lee Kyung Woo ends up admiring his friend's lover. Lee Kyung Woo cannot tell anyone about his feelings, so he ended up keeping it to himself and cry alone.
Jung Da Eun played as Yang Min Ji shared impressions of her character, who she thought was simple. But later on, she found out her to be multidimensional and very difficult as a character while she was acting. Even the director could tell that Yang Min Ji's character was difficult to portray.
Go Chan Bi as Kim Byung Hoon; a funny and bright character shared his acting debut with the "Love Revolution" experience. He said that every aspect of the story is new to him. He felt more excited than being scared. He also added that he would surely feel empty looking back to this story because they had filmed after not sleeping well, and he can work with the same age friends.
Dayoung of WJSN plays Oh Ah Ram, Wang Ja Rim's friend, carefree and athletic. She talked about how she has used to her character, adamant. She continued that Oh Ah Ram is someone who made her realize the difference in her role in the drama and the original webtoon.
Ahn Do Gyu talked about his first time working with same age actors in "Love Revolution" as Ahn Kyung Min. He said that he was working before with senior actors and felt very nervous on set many times. He added that he was excited about filming the drama "Love Revolution" because he will be acting with people at his age and portraying the character applicable to real lives.
The September issue of Dazed contains the full pictorial and interview.
"Love Revolution" will have 30 episodes, about 20 minutes each.
