ITZY Reigns as 'University Festival Queens' Once Again with Explosive Live Performance
ITZY, the K-pop sensation, has proven their enduring stature as 'University Festival Queens' this year too, with a refreshingly invigorating live performance.
Recently, ITZY has been expanding their influence as 'stage masters' by accepting invitations to perform at various university festivals across the country. Last year, they captured the hearts of audiences with their solid vocals, vibrant performances, and witty interactions. This year, they brought the same exuberant energy to their festival performances, which were greeted with roaring applause.
This year, they heated up the stage with a medley of their exciting hits. Their debut song 'Dalla Dalla,' 'WANNABE,' 'Not Shy,' 'Mafia In the Morning,' and 'SNEAKERS' led the crowd in a sing-along, while their B-side track '#Twenty' radiated the group's bubbly charm fitting for a 'Gen Z Wannabe Icon.' In the blooming month of May, their performance brought the heat of mid-summer, and the audience's cheers were as enthusiastic as ever. Online viewers praised the intense atmosphere captured in the videos, saying things like "They're the first choice for festival bookings," and "Everything from their perfect live performance to the group sing-along is goosebump-inducing."
ITZY continues to increase fan satisfaction with their activities spanning both online and offline platforms. Recently, they appeared at 'KCON JAPAN 2023,' held at Makuhari Messe in Japan, where they showcased a variety of stages, including 'SNEAKERS' and 'Cheshire,' as well as 'Blah Blah Blah,' the title track of their second Japanese single released last October. A popular unit content 'Pair Date,' where fans can get a glimpse of the perfect chemistry between the five members, is also gaining popularity. In the episode released on the 12th, Yeji and Chaeryeong, known as 'Ryeongji Gonji,' had a pleasant conversation while trying out their favorite snacks and trending desserts. They also chose nostalgic songs they would like to sing for each other and recommended songs for their fans (known as MIDZY) to listen to before bed, providing a full episode of engaging content.
In other news, ITZY successfully completed their first world tour 'ITZY THE 1ST WORLD TOUR <CHECKMATE>' in April, spanning 20 shows across 16 regions worldwide. After kicking off in Seoul in August 2022, the group has proven their global popularity with sold-out shows across eight regions in the US and seven regions in Asia. With such soaring success, expectations are high for ITZY to further illuminate their status as a 'Global Trendsetting Girl Group.'
