ITZY's music video for "WANNABE" has surpassed 500 million views on YouTube, setting a personal best for the K-pop girl group.

Released on March 9, 2020, the music video for "WANNABE," the title track from ITZY's second mini-album 'IT'z ME,' broke 500 million views on the night of May 3rd. With this achievement, ITZY becomes the first fourth-generation K-pop girl group to reach half a billion views on a music video, further establishing their unique presence.

"WANNABE" conveys a 'one & only ME' message, encouraging listeners to embrace their own individuality and not be bound by the standards set by others. The song captivated K-pop fans worldwide with its powerful energy, signature 'shoulder dance,' and lyrics that express a confident and assertive attitude. In the music video, scenes of the five members breaking free from the constraints of the world, such as walking a runway barefoot or cutting their own hair, continue to garner steadfast love and support.

Meanwhile, ITZY recently wrapped up their first world tour, 'ITZY THE 1st WORLD TOUR: Checkmate.' The tour, which began in Seoul in August 2022, spanned 20 shows across 16 regions worldwide. The group proved their global popularity by selling out every show in their North American tour across eight cities in October and November, as well as performances in Manila, Singapore, Jakarta, Chiba, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.
