Red Velvet's Joy Temporarily Halts Activities Due to Health Concerns, Unable to Attend 'Animal Farm' Recording
Red Velvet member Joy is temporarily suspending her activities due to health reasons.
On April 26 (KST), her agency SM Entertainment stated, "Joy recently visited the hospital due to poor health conditions and received medical advice that she needs treatment and rest after consultation and examination."
Joy will not be participating in schedules for the time being and will focus on recovering her health. SM Entertainment said, "We would like to apologize to the fans for causing concern and ask for your understanding as this decision was made after thorough discussions for Joy's health. We will do our best to ensure Joy returns to her fans in good health and will update you as soon as her activities resume."
Joy was currently appearing on SBS's 'TV Animal Farm' with Shin Dong-yeob, Jung Sun-hee, and Tony An. Regarding Joy's temporary suspension of activities, an SBS official told the media, "Joy will not be participating in today's 'TV Animal Farm' recording. The three MCs will proceed with the program as planned." The official added, "It seems likely that a special MC will join from the next recording. However, discussions are still ongoing regarding who will participate and for how long."
Red Velvet, the group Joy belongs to, has been active with songs such as "Happiness," "Ice Cream Cake," "Red Flavor," "Zimzalabim," and "Feel My Rhythm." Joy has also been active as an actress through dramas like "The Liar and His Lover" and "Only One Person."
