BLACKPINK's Jisoo Confirms Leading Role In Upcoming Drama 'Snowdrop'
On August 18, several media outlets confirmed BLACKPINK's Jisoo was given cast for a lead role in an upcoming drama series.
The female lead role was given to Jisoo for the upcoming JTBC drama series "Snowdrop" (working on the title). The scriptwriter Yoo Hyun Min heads the production and the director of the hit JTBC series "Sky Castle."
BLINKs, if you've got seen Jisoo during a television program just last year with an appearance in Arthdal Chronicles, who would have believed her comeback as an actress will be as a lead character? Jisoo's next venture as an actress may be a JTBC project that's tentatively titled Snowdrop. The idol's management, YG Entertainment, confirmed the news as well.
"Snowdrop" is within the capable hands of the best know director Ho Hyun Tak of the successful SKY Castle (2018-19) and writer Yoo Hyun Mi who served as screenwriter on the show. While Jisoo's confirmed the casting, we do not know who else is within the drama just yet.
However, there have been speculations that Kingdom's Kim Hye-Joon is going to be joining the cast, but there's no announcement of confirmation. Currently, there's no known information about the discharge date of Snowdrop.
Jisoo was first seen in a TV drama when she came on board as a cameo role in the 2015 K-drama, The Producers, then Arthdal Chronicles (2019) happened, and now, we'll soon see her during a full-fledged lead role. That's a hell of a comeback. It'll be exciting to ascertain more of her acting chops.
Speaking of comebacks, BLACKPINK is making its latest studio album. After the discharge of the title track 'How you wish That,' the band is preparing to release a subsequent record, making waves not just in K-pop but also in global pop.
It had been revealed (after much teasing) that their secret collab artist is Selena Gomez. So Selpink is officially a thing, and apparently, the track will be released next Friday (August 28).
