Apink has officially confirmed a solo debut for one of its members!

Play M Entertainment, the band's managing company, disclosed on August 18, "Apink's Namjoo will finally make her solo premiere on September 7 with one single album." (via Soompi)

Namjoo has completed shooting her music video, and her debut track is reported to be composed by G-IDLE's Soyeon. Namjoo will become the third Apink member to have a solo comeback, after Jung Eun Ji and Hayoung.

KIM NAMJOO'S CAREER

Kim Namjoo entered Cube Entertainment via the audition process of the 2010 Cube Party and became one of the last members to be added before the actual band debut. Namjoo has made an appearance on Mnet's M with Apink! Countdown showcasing their "I Don't Know" and "Wishlist" tracks featured on Apink 's breakthrough EP Seven Springs on April 21, 2011. Together with Yoon Bo-mi, she is one of the two members of Apink's PINK BnN subunit.

VARIETY SHOWS

In September 2015, Namjoo had been featured in the 8-episode Naver TVCast web drama Investigator Alice. It was released in October 2015 in which she depicted Chun Yeon-Joo as a detective.

For the second season, in 2016, she reenacted her part. Namjoo entered MBC's Tutoring Across Generations in March 2015 instead of Lee Tae-Im, but the show went off the air on April 2 following episode 21 attributable to decreasing viewership.

On October 20, 2015, Namjoo participated in Sugar Man with co-member Yoon Bo-mi as PINK BnN. In 2016, Namjoo and Yoon Bo-mi had become Shikshin Road 2's new show hosts.

In King of Mask Singer's December 27 coverage, it was announced that Namjoo was behind the "Good Daughter Shim Cheong" mask.

OTHER VENTURES

Together with groupmate Jung Eun-Ji and previous Beast representative Jang Hyun-Seung, on January 3, 2013, Namjoo released a song "A Year Ago" from the A Cube Season # White project to help celebrate the accomplishment of their respective groups.

She recorded "Seoul Lonely" in 2014, with hip-hop team Phantom. She launched a cover version with BtoB's Yook Sung-Jae called "Photograph" on June 2, 2015, as part of the single release A Cube For Season # Blue Season 2 venture by Cube Entertainment.

Kim Namjoo decided to launch her clothing brand, Sugar Please, on February 14, 2019.
