Goo Hara's Brother Asks The Public Not To Forget Fighting For The 'Goo Hara Act'
Goo Hara's older brother, Goo Ho In, asks the people never to overlook the ongoing battle for the "Goo Hara Act."
The act calls for parents to be barred from demanding succession on their children's demise, who abuse and leave their children. Ho In initiated this act when their mom, who ran away from home when the siblings were only young, started demanding a quarter of Goo Hara's assets after she passed.
Goo Ho In claims that the mother does not have the right to the riches of Hara because she has neglected them since they were small.
In a recent "Goo Hara Act" gathering, Ho In outlined the need for such a law and how their mother has no authority to speak what Hara left behind for her close relatives. Ho In said, he could not let go of her sister in peace, as he recalls the days when she and Goo Hara were young and abandoned by their mother.
He stressed their pain and mental anguish that their mom left them while growing up with their dad, and how their mother showed up to claim half of Goo Hara 's wealth drove him mad and hurt even more.
He also alluded to the horrific Sewol Ferry Scandal, in which hundreds of young people died. This also spurred to several instances in which parents who had deserted their children claimed accumulated wealth from their lives lost. Goo Ho In urged the community to support him continue the fight and not allow the case to be dealt with in such a way that no more victims will emerge from outdated succession laws.
"My heart is so heavy. Laws should be changed almost as much as the community needs to change. If nothing happens to change even after multiple incidents have uncovered a problem, then a second and third scenario like Goo Hara will occur."
"I keep hoping that no further victims will be constantly faced with this mental anguish and that they'll never be overlooked. Thanks to a lot of help and assistance, we've come this far. I hope that a wise decision will be produced to establish a new inherited wealth law that adequately represents the new age." -Goo Ho In (via Koreaboo)
