TWICE Jihyo Breaks Records: First K-pop Female Soloist to Achieve Half-Million First-Week Sales with Mini Album
TWICE's Jihyo has set a new record as the first K-pop female solo artist to achieve half a million sales in the first week of release with her mini-album 'ZONE'.
Released on August 18th, Jihyo's debut mini-album 'ZONE' recorded a staggering 534,565 sales within the first week, according to the album tally site Hanteo Chart. With this achievement, Jihyo has not only broken the record for the highest first-week sales for a mini-album by a K-pop female solo artist but also ascended as the first to achieve half a million sales.
Her mini-album and its title track 'Killin' Me Good' have received rave reviews on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform. According to Spotify's announcement on the 21st (local time), 'Killin' Me Good' secured the top spot on the Top Song Debut Global Chart (from 2023.08.18 to 2023.08.20). The album also ranked within the top 10 on the Top Album Debut Global Chart, Top Album Debut USA Chart (from 2023.08.18 to 2023.08.20), and Top Album Debut UK Chart (from 2023.08.18 to 2023.08.21).
The title of Jihyo's solo debut album, 'ZONE', encapsulates the meaning of 'Jihyo's (Z) First (ONE)' and 'Jihyo's (Z) Complete One (ONE)'. Jihyo has showcased her musical prowess and sincerity by contributing to all six tracks on the album.
Currently, Jihyo is actively promoting on domestic music shows and various YouTube channel contents.
