As Korea is affected by ongoing heavy rains and flooding, celebrities are also pouring their blessing to aid those affected by the unfortunate situation.
Korea’s rainy season began in June. And the amount of rain has been overwhelming the country at significant levels. The central and southern regions of Korea have been centered on the concentration of monsoon rains that caused floods in the areas and pushed thousands to evacuate.
Earlier on August 4, per Soompi, it was revealed by the Korea Disaster Relied Association that Kim Jong Kook donated an amount of 50 million won ($42, 170) to help those who are in need. Newsen reported that the actor’s agency is unaware of the generous action made by the actor.
Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah exhibited more generosity as their agency AM Entertainment revealed that the two actors donated 50 million won each to the Community Chest of Korea. Previously, the couple gave an amount to help prevent COVID-19 from spreading earlier this year.
Moreover, on August 5, the Korea Disaster Relief Association shared that Kim So Hyun contributed 20 million won ($16,880) to help the flood victims. The actress has been giving donations continuously, assisting the wildfire victims in Gangwon Province, and aiding the preventions of COVID-19.
Another help was given by actress Kim Seo Hyung as revealed by a representative from the Korea Disaster Relief Association. She donated 20 million won to the association’s '2020 Emergency Relief Campaign For Flood Damage.' The donation aims to restore the areas damaged by the flood and aid the victims.
Meanwhile, on August 6, TVXQ’s Changmin donated 30 million won (approximately $25,330) to aid the disadvantaged kids profoundly affected by the heavy rains. Per Childfund Korea, the donation will be utilized for repairing the homes of children from underprivileged families.
