YG's New Girl Group, BabyMonster, Aims for September Debut, Dance and MV Post-production Underway
YG's new girl group, BabyMonster, is set to make their debut in September.
According to YG Entertainment on the 11th, the debut project of BabyMonster (Luka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyun, Haram, Rora, Chiquita) is proceeding swiftly under the command of chief producer Yang Hyun-suk. With a powerful hip-hop genre song confirmed as their debut track, the group is aiming for a release in September, and they are currently engrossed in the post-production stages of dance routines and music videos.
Over time, YG has invited renowned producers from abroad to Korea to hold multiple song camps for BabyMonster's album production. Through this, they have secured several tracks, including the debut song, and are rapidly pushing forward follow-up projects outlined post-debut.
Earlier, chief producer Yang confirmed the BabyMonster members and promised that "the debut will not be delayed past this fall". It appears this promise is being faithfully carried out. YG stated, "We are sharing the current progress as we have received many inquiries about the debut timing of BabyMonster from global fans. We will bring good news soon."
Meanwhile, BabyMonster is the first girl group launched by YG after about seven years since BLACKPINK. With multinational members from Korea (Ahyun, Haram, Rora), Thailand (Pharita, Chiquita), and Japan (Luka, Asa), the group's vocal, dance, rap, and visual abilities are top-tier.
