The globally successful boy band BTS is approaching their 10th debut anniversary on June 13th. Their worldwide acclaim can be attributed to several factors such as character, relationships, worldview, but above all, their foundation lies in their music.

BTS debuted in 2013 with the single '2 Cool 4 Skool' and showcased 'real hip-hop' through their debut track 'No More Dream'. They subsequently released songs like 'N.O', 'Attack on Bangtan', 'Boy In Luv', 'Danger', 'Hip Hop Phile', and more but didn't get as much response as anticipated. Nevertheless, they unveiled tracks they personally worked on through the 'School Trilogy' album series, highlighting their unique musical style.

Their efforts finally blossomed during the 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life' album series, often referred to as the 'Youth Duology'. Their 2015 release, 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 1', featured the title track 'I NEED U', an electro-hip hop song with an urban style that resonated with the public due to its lyrical atmosphere. This resulted in BTS winning their first-ever music show just two years after debut. They went on to solidify their position in the Korean music industry with follow-up hits such as 'Dope', 'Run', and 'Fire'.

Meanwhile, BTS also made strides in the Japanese market. They released singles like 'No More Dream', 'Boy In Luv', 'Danger', and the full album 'WAKE UP' in 2014. Then in 2015, their single 'FOR YOU' clinched the top spot on Oricon's Daily Chart, a Japanese chart of significant repute and tradition. Subsequent releases like 'YOUTH', 'Blood Sweat & Tears', and 'MIC Drop/DNA/Crystal Snow' dominated the Oricon charts, proving their popularity in Japan as well.

After receiving positive responses in the Korean and Japanese markets, BTS set their sights on America. Through active communication with global fans via their social media accounts and touring across North and South America, they started to gain recognition in the U.S. This led to their 2015 mini-album 'The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 2' debuting at 171 on the 'Billboard 200'. BTS continued to climb the Billboard charts, and in 2018, their album 'LOVE YOURSELF: Tear' topped the 'Billboard 200', marking a significant achievement.

BTS also consistently made meaningful strides on Billboard's main singles chart, the 'Hot 100'. They first entered the 'Hot 100' with the title track 'DNA' from their 2017 series 'LOVE YOURSELF'. In 2018, 'FAKE LOVE' broke into the top 10 on the 'Hot 100', a first for BTS. They continued this momentum with entries such as 'IDOL', 'Boy With Luv', 'Black Swan', 'ON', and more, demonstrating their popularity. In 2020, they hit the peak with 'Dynamite', securing their first 'Hot 100' No.1.

BTS, often dubbed as the 'record-breaking band', continued their march of setting new records. In December 2020, 'Life Goes On' became the first Korean song to ever enter the 'Hot 100' chart, shocking everyone in Billboard's 62-year history.

The following year in June, their catchy dance-pop track 'Butter' went straight to No.1 on the 'Hot 100'. Remarkably, 'Butter' stayed in the top spot for seven consecutive weeks, setting another record. Their next release, 'Permission to Dance', released in July, also climbed to No.1 upon its debut, affirming BTS's immense 'brand power'. In October of the same year, their collaboration with Coldplay, 'My Universe', once again reached the top of the 'Hot 100'. The song 'Yet To Come', released the same year, also made it onto the 'Hot 100'. In 2022, Billboard announced that BTS had the most songs reach No.1 on the 'Hot 100' over the past decade.

The individual members of BTS have also had dazzling careers as solo artists. J-Hope charted on the 'Hot 100' with 'Chicken Noodle Soup', released in 2019, and with 'MORE' and 'Blue Side', released the following year. Suga's 2020 track 'Daechwita' reached 76th place on the same chart. Jin's first solo single, 'The Astronaut', a collaboration with the world-famous band Coldplay, reached 51st place on the 'Hot 100' in October of last year. RM, who released his first solo album in December, climbed to 83rd place with his title song 'Moonchild'.

V made it onto the 'Hot 100' with the drama OST 'Christmas Tree', which was released last year. Similarly, Jungkook's OST 'Stay Alive' for the HYBE original webtoon 'Seven Fates: Chakho' also debuted on the 'Hot 100'. Notably, Jimin entered the chart at No.1 in April this year with the title song 'Like Crazy' from his first solo album 'FACE', once again demonstrating the enduring 'BTS power'.
