ENHYPEN Drops Fourth Mini Album 'DARK BLOOD,' Expressing Gratitude to Fans Today
K-pop group ENHYPEN is set to return with a new album, brimming with their appreciation and love for their fans.
ENHYPEN (members Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Ni-ki) is releasing their fourth mini-album, 'DARK BLOOD,' today at 6 PM. This comeback comes about ten months after their third mini-album 'MANIFESTO: DAY 1,' and ENHYPEN is ready to showcase their broadened musical spectrum.
Having debuted during the pandemic, ENHYPEN connected with their fans, known as ENGENE, predominantly online. However, after meeting their fans in person, they felt a deeper sense of unity. 'DARK BLOOD' mirrors their desire for a stronger bond with their fans and conveys their appreciation and value of their fans through a dark fantasy narrative.
'DARK BLOOD' tells the story of a boy preparing for a destined reunion and willing to sacrifice for 'you'. This album aligns with HYBE's original story 'DARK MOON: Moon's Altar,' collaborated with ENHYPEN. Both narratives speak of fate, sacrifice, and biting as a common motif. ENHYPEN's integration of the story IP is expected to pave a new path for next-gen entertainment.
The title track 'Bite Me' is a pop genre song expressing the boy's realization that he and 'you' are bound by fate through blood and yearning for 'you' to bite him as a symbol. The recording was directed by member Heeseung, and Ni-ki participated in choreography, resulting in a captivating, dark song filled with ENHYPEN's unique color.
Apart from the title track, the album includes 'Fate,' depicting a boy who awakens to his destiny; 'Sacrifice (Eat Me Up),' vowing sacrifice for the other; 'Chaconne,' illustrating a boy succumbing to his own dance; 'Bills,' likening delayed regret and sorrow from lost love to a bill; and 'Karma,' reminding us not to forget that 'you' and I have been connected by destiny since past lives. Each song organically connects the stories of the boy and 'you,' enhancing message deliverance.
ENHYPEN has received support from their generation by incorporating their thoughts and emotions into the narrative of each album. With 'DARK BLOOD,' they're expected to gain listener empathy by translating their felt bond with fans into an understandable fantasy story.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN's fourth mini-album 'DARK BLOOD' will be released today at 6 PM. The new song performances will be premiered at 'ENHYPEN DARK BLOOD SPECIAL SHOWCASE,' broadcasted live worldwide at 8 PM via Weverse Live, HYBE Labels, M2 YouTube channel, and TikTok.
