Aespa's 'Spicy' Surge: Breaking First-Week Sales Records, Topping Music Charts, and Sweeping University Festivals
K-pop girl group Aespa continues their successful streak with their new single, 'Spicy.'
The title track from their third mini-album, 'Spicy,' has helped Aespa snatch the first-place trophy on music programs such as Mnet's 'M Countdown' on May 18, KBS 2TV's 'Music Bank' on the 19th, and MBC's 'Show! Music Core' on May 20.
As the university festival season arrived, Aespa performed at the ERICA Festival at Hanyang University on the 18th and at the Akaraka Festival at Yonsei University on the 20th. The group showcased a variety of their hit songs, including the new single 'Spicy,' as well as 'Black Mamba,' 'Next Level,' 'Illusion,' and 'Thirsty' from their new album, solidifying their status as a leading act in the industry.
Earlier, Aespa shattered the record for first-week sales for a K-pop girl group, with 1,698,784 copies sold of their latest album, according to the Hanteo Chart.
The group's music has been gaining global attention, as it topped both the Melon TOP 100 and Genie Chart, and secured the number one spot on numerous other domestic and international music and album charts.
Adding to their impressive portfolio, Aespa will attend the 76th Cannes International Film Festival's red carpet as official ambassadors for Chopard, an official partner of the festival.
Furthermore, starting in August, Aespa will extend their global reach with tours in America and Europe.
