FIFTY FIFTY Achieves Billboard Double Top 3: A K-pop Girl Group Record Following BLACKPINK
The girl group FIFTY FIFTY has recorded a double top 3 on the Billboard charts.
According to Billboard on the 16th, FIFTY FIFTY's debut single 'The Beginning: Cupid,' featuring the title track 'Cupid,' has reached number 2 and 3 on the Billboard Global 200 (Excl. U.S.) and Global 200 charts respectively for the week of May 20, thus recording a double top 3.
With this, FIFTY FIFTY has become the second K-pop girl group to have reached these heights on both charts, following the group BLACKPINK.
The Global 200 (Excl. U.S.) reflects the digital sales and online streaming from around the world, excluding the United States. The fact that the ranking on this chart is higher than on the Global 200 has a special significance. According to a Billboard article, they are on an upward trajectory with sales of 20 million (a 24% increase) and 66.7 million streams (an 8% increase).
Previously, FIFTY FIFTY made a record-breaking leap of 22 steps to land at number 19 on the Billboard Main Single Chart 'Hot 100' on the 13th, marking their 7th consecutive week on the chart. This is the highest record set by a K-pop girl group with a solo song.
