The group Brave Girls, known for their legendary rise, has announced a fresh start by changing their name to 'BB Girls' and settling into a new agency. As they prepare for a summer comeback, all eyes are on whether they can reclaim their 'Summer Queen' title with their underdog spirit.

Debuting in 2011 under Brave Entertainment, created by Brave Brothers, the current members Eunji, Minyoung, Yujeong, and Yuna completed the line-up in 2016, but it took them quite some time to shine. They didn't garner attention until around five years later, in 2021, when their song 'Rollin'' made a surprising comeback. Notably, 'Rollin'' was released in 2017, so their unexpected success was widely praised as a miracle crafted through effort.

After their rise, Brave Girls planned to continue their activities with releases such as 'Chi Mat Ba Ram' and 'Thank You.' However, circumstances were less than ideal. Their solo concert planned for January 2022 had to be cancelled due to the spread of COVID-19. Despite their 5th mini-album 'Summer Queen' recording a respectable 60,000 initial sales, their 6th mini-album 'Thank You,' released in March of the same year, only achieved 30,000 initial sales, causing some disappointment.

Amidst this, Brave Entertainment announced on February 16th that their exclusive contract with Brave Girls had expired, and their official activities were ending. The group's activities didn't exceed two years even after their breakout success, and they were unable to break the infamous '7-year curse,' leading to considerable disappointment among fans.

After focusing on their individual lives, Eunji, Minyoung, Yujeong, and Yuna regrouped at Warner Music Korea on April 27th, making their nest at a new agency. Confirming their complete group activities, the now rebranded Brave Girls announced on May 3rd that they had changed their team name to 'BB Girls,' signaling a fresh start and teasing a summer comeback.

Regarding this, an agency representative told News1, "We are preparing a song for a summer comeback, keeping all possibilities open." They added, "There is no set plan on what kind of album to produce in detail yet," and emphasized that they are "working hard to show a good side of BB Girls starting with a new name at a new agency," raising expectations.

BB Girls, who ended their group activities and regrouped without achieving noticeable success after their 'Rollin'' comeback, is expected to make this summer comeback a turning point for their new activities.

A music industry insider stated, "The biggest reason BB Girls faltered after their rise was the lack of a hit song." They added, "While 'Rollin'' received good reviews for showcasing Newtro, the songs they released afterward pursued an older Retro style, which left some regrets." They concluded, "This could be seen as the result of failing to accurately analyze the factors behind their rise. If they can properly target their audience as they prepare for the second act as BB Girls, they can have a more dazzling comeback than ever before."
