Mysterious Circumstances Surround Seo Se-won's Death at Cambodian 'Hospital'
When "Dispatch" first contacted the Future Hospital in Cambodia regarding Seo Se-won's death, a woman, believed to be a local nurse, answered the call. She confirmed his passing, stating, "He lost consciousness after receiving an IV injection. He stopped breathing."
Upon further questioning about the type of injection and whether it was a vitamin, she responded with OO. A Korean man then took over the conversation. "He passed away after just receiving a saline solution. I will find out more about the situation and get back to you." The call was disconnected, and no further communication followed.
On the evening of the 20th, Dispatch spoke with Hyun-ok Park, the president of the Korean Association in Cambodia. She was the first to arrive at the hospital after learning of Seo Se-won's death and confirming his identity. Describing her relationship with Seo Se-won as that of an older brother and younger sister, Park said, "When I heard the news and went to the hospital, he was already in cardiac arrest."
Park recalled seeing a saline solution connected to Seo Se-won's arm when she arrived at the hospital. Despite the medical team's CPR efforts, he did not regain consciousness. Park described his appearance as peaceful and said she personally removed the saline solution from his arm.
According to Park, the nurse in question had just started working at the Future Hospital that day, with Seo Se-won and the hospital's operations director (Korean) conducting the interview themselves. She also mentioned that Seo Se-won was involved in a local hospital business.
Park explained that the operations director left for dental work, leaving Seo Se-won to receive the saline solution alone with the nurse. She said that Seo Se-won was also running a dental clinic and looking for Korean doctors to expand his medical business.
The Future Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, lacked doctors, and Seo Se-won personally interviewed the nurse. Park revealed that he had eaten kimchi stew at the hospital before receiving the saline solution.
Park shared that Seo Se-won had long struggled with diabetes, causing him to lose significant weight. She expressed relief that he had eaten before receiving the saline solution and that he passed away lying down comfortably.
Seo Se-won died in a facility that could hardly be considered a hospital, with no doctors present. Only the Korean director and the nurse, whom the deceased had personally interviewed, were there. There has been no discussion or inquiry into the prescription or the saline solution administered, nor any plans to investigate potential medical negligence.
Park stated that the police conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be shock. She added, "Who will question the medical negligence? It's not easy in Cambodia."
Seo Se-won's body is currently being held at a temple in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, while awaiting funeral arrangements. His daughter, Seo Dong-ju, will arrive to discuss the arrangements.
