Fans Uncover Hints That Choi Yena May Be Joining EVERGLOW In 'Last Melody' Comeback
EVERGLOW is a six-member girl group under Yue Hua Entertainment. They debuted on March 18, 2019. Now fans have been wondering whether Choi Yena would be joining the group.
Choi Ye-na, better known as Yena, is a South Korean singer.
She finished fourth in Mnet's girl group survival show Produce 48 and debuted with Iz*One in 2018. She is currently a trainee under Yuehua Entertainment following Iz*One's disbandment on April 29, 2021.
According to Koreaboo, Wiz*One, the official fandom name of Iz*One, and FOREVERs have spotted four possible hints that Choi Yena could be soon joining EVERGLOW in the group's new comeback with single album 'Last Melody.'
Here are some of the possible hints that the fans have spotted. Firstly is The Pod. Fans had speculated that when the members stared at the pod intently before the music video for the 'First' song begins playing, they believe that it looks like they are waiting for something or someone.
Some are guessing that this could be a hint that the South Korean girl group EVERGLOW is waiting for Yena to join them.
The second hint is right before 'First' begins playing in the music video; the pod scene transitions into a shot of a well-known constellation referred to as The Big Dipper.
There are six stars shown on the screen, likely alluding to EVERGLOW's six members. However, the actual Big Dipper has seven stars, and again many fans are taking this to mean that Yena could be the missing seventh star the members are waiting for.
Another possible hint fans noticed that at the end of the 'First' music video teaser, there is a large gap between two of the members. Fans believe that the girl group is leaving a space for Yena.
Lastly is about the single album's title, 'Last Melody.' Many were surprised that the girl group EVERGLOW would release another single album at this point in their career, given that their previous two releases were both mini albums.
Once the format was revealed, many fans are wondering whether Yuehua Entertainment was saving songs to release a new mini-album with Yena shortly.
On the other hand, Sihyeon becomes EVERGLOW's new leader as E:U steps down from the position. E:U stated, "I think that Sihyeon will play the role of leader well after me. As the oldest member, I will continue to stay by her side and support her as the new leader."
Sihyeon may not be the eldest member of EVERGLOW, but she has plenty of experience in the industry. She also confirmed that she had become the leader of EVERGLOW after E:U, and she went on to assure the fans saying, "I will take responsibility and work hard to better harmonize with the members."
