2AM's Im Seulong Fined After His Involvement In A Fatal Car Crash Last Year
2AM's Im Seulong has been officially monetarily fined for his fatal car crash crime, which resulted in the death of a man he struck last year.
On January 19, Tuesday, a source from the legal authorities related to Im Seulong's case has shared he was fined for a total of 7 million won by the Seoul Western District Court last January 13. Moreover, the fine was submitted through a summary indictment made by the court after thoroughly reviewing documents without a formal trial.
Failure to comply or refusal with all the conditions written on the summary order will commence a formal trial of the related case. The summary order was made after Im Seulong was apprehended for reckless driving and non-compliance with the road traffic signs, which killed a man crossing the road on the night of August 2020.
Despite the victim being rushed to the hospital, he was later declared dead on arrival. That said, 2AM's Im Seulong was investigated for potential violation of South Korea's Act on Special Cases Concerning Traffic Accidents' Settlement.
Given that 2AM's Im Seulong was not under the influence while driving, netizens condemn the K-pop idol's action through various online platforms, which even resulted in an unfortunate outcome. His managing agency, Jellyfish Entertainment, then released an official statement concerning his crime and apologize to the deceased's family.
"We understand how much pain the victim's family members must be in, and we would like to sincerely apologize to them. Once again, may the victim rest in peace, and we send our deepest condolences to his family," Jellyfish concluded.
Moreover, Im Seulong had officially agreed with his victim's family. In addition to the charges, he has to settle for violation of the Special Cases for Traffic Accidents.
