PENTAGON's Shinwon And Kino Shares Experience On 'Road To Kingdom' + Comments On Upcoming Album
On the July 13 simulcast of NOW's "Question Mark" on the Naver App, hosted by VIXX's Ravi, PENTAGON's Kino and Shinwon arrived as guests and spoke about their participation on Mnet's "Road to Kingdom."
Kino addressed their performances on the show, "Honestly, it's been very entertaining. We managed to push ourselves to our boundaries and bring on quality performance styles that we usually don't have the chance to do." (via Soompi)
Although PENTAGON couldn't proceed to "Kingdom," they exhibited their skills with live performances. Shinwon added, "Each time, frankly, it was difficult to put on live musical performances. Yet we're musicians, and live performances are more enjoyable!" Kino continued, "It encompasses our unity and holds us true to our words. It's why we're performing live."
Shinwon reflected on performing against bands such as The Boyz, ONF, and Golden Child, "We hadn't thought of it as a game. We have just done it. These were all so much more than we anticipated. We were surprised to see these for the first moment. It was beyond that, instead of just saying, 'We have to be professional about this.'"
VIXX's Ravi applauded everybody on the program, adding, "The producers are making the program, but the artists produce the performances. To see all the groups get the most out of each other and doing their utmost. It was a perfect result of fair and friendly competition."
The members of PENTAGON also spoke of their eldest, Jinho, who joined in the army mid-program.
Kino commented that it would take years before the band can reunite again and it is terrifying to think over how long they will have to wait. However, Jinho encouraged them that they should still do well.
About PENTAGON's "Shine" scoring 200 million views with its music video, Kino said that Shine gave PENTAGON a purpose to move forward. "It's a song that made a lot of people get to know our group," he added.
Kino concluded by commenting on their new album, "Please don't be concerned that it's not coming as fast as you thought it would. It's just because we want it to be the best it can be."
