K-Pop Idols Who Mysteriously ‘Left’ Their Group
While disbandment among Kpop groups becomes an easy headline for news, netizens make theories on why an individual act leaves a group as easy as falling off a log.
Common reasons why a K-pop idol quits from his group include end of contracts or unbearable scandals. In most instances, group withdrawals confuse fans, resulting in feeling empty due to the sudden departure.
We have listed down three departures that seemed to be a mystery [via Koreaboo]:
1. Woojin (Former member of Stray Kids)
On one sunny day, JYP Entertainment shocked Stray Kids' fans after announcing in 2019 that Woojin would be leaving the group for personal reasons.
The company then announced that the group's upcoming EP, Clé: Levanter, will be released on December 9, instead of November 2, due to Woojin's departure, wrote Cheatsheet.
JYP Entertainment asked fans to support Woojin still and to support the eight remaining Stray Kids members, who will continue on their way to their dreams, with their compass.
The reasons behind the sudden goodbye of Woojin is still a mystery among fans, while others thought that he was kicked out from the group, according to Koreaboo.
2. Mirae, Kokoro, and LinLin (Former members of Cherry Bullet)
On December 13, 2019, FNC Entertainment announced the departure of Mirae, Kokoro, and Linlin from "Cherry Bullet."
The 2018 born girl group who made huge leaps in 2019 continued their journey as a seven-member group. The reasons behind the member's decision to leave were never expounded.
FNC stated, "It is with a heavy heart that we bring this unforeseen news to all the fans who have cared for "Cherry Bullet." The three members came to this decision after speaking with us."
3. Yeonwoo, Taeha, and Daisy (Former members of MOMOLAND)
Fans were saddened on the sudden departure of Taeha and Yeonwoo from the famous girl group "MOMOLAND." There were speculations among fans that the two were kicked out from the group.
The agency said that they had negotiations with another member, Daisy, who has been on hiatus from the band. Fans, however, rumored that Daisy was forced to quit in the group instead.
On their announcement, MLD Entertainment said that Both Taeha and Yeonwoo had thought deeply about their career path for a long time, and they had conversations about their thoughts.
After careful consideration and respecting their artists' opinions, the label said that Taeha is going to make a new path after her exclusive contract is terminated.
While Yeonwoo has had a deep affection for her MOMOLAND activities, she has decided that it would be too much strain for her team and herself if she continues with her activities as an actress.
The agency also mentioned Daisy's situation on their announcement and will soon be making judgments with her status.
