HIGHLIGHT's Son Dongwoon Is Officially Discharged From The Military
HIGHLIGHT's Son Dongwoon is now officially discharged from his military service. Around US Entertainment, the label managing the K-pop idol confirmed the news.
On December 8, Tuesday, Soompi reported HIGHLIGHT Son Dongwoon's military service's dismissal, and his managing label verified the news through their source. It was confirmed through a statement which reads, "Son Dongwoon concluded his duty of one year and seven months as a conscripted policeman, along with his official dismissal from the military today."
Due to the government's COVID-19 protocol, HIGHLIGHT's Son Dongwoon has been dismissed from his service without returning to the military base. Fans are excited to have Son Dongwoon back from his service in a good and healthy condition.
Moreover, Son Dongwoon shared his statement to fans through his agency, sharing how precious it was for him as an artist and celebrity to enjoy and live an ordinary citizen's life through his service. Son Dongwoon concluded that he wanted to live his life working with people he loves and enjoy having around.
Following his comeback to the big world of the K-pop scene where everywhere is camera and smiles, the Highlight member expressed nervousness and excitement for the first time in a while. With other members officially discharge from their military services, fans are excited to wait for their future releases in the music scene.
HIGHLIGHT member Lee Gikwang was dismissed last month, Yoon Doojoon was released in April, and Yang Yoseob was discharged back in August. Fans are excited to know what's next to their career goals in 2021.
Son Dongwoon will launch his first virtual fan meeting through Around Us Entertainment's official V LIVE channel today, at 8:00 p.m. KST. Son Dongwoon will share his military experience stories and plans and express his gratitude for fans who patiently waited for his return this year.
