BTS Earns Gold RIAJ Certification In Japan With Hit Track 'Dynamite'
Since April 2020, a new certification system has already been implemented for the online streaming of songs. This is in addition to the physical album shipments and digital download sales, which are the pre-existing systems.
Now, BTS, TWICE, and BIGBANG becomes the last batch of official certifications announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).
TWICE Is The Korean Group With Highest RIAJ Certifications
TWICE is now officially the Korean group with the highest RIAJ Certifications in the latest batch after earning two official silver certifications for both the Korean version of TT and their recent Japanese song Fanfare.
Previously, the group's Japanese version of TT has gone silver in Japan. This is in addition to their songs, YES or YES, MORE & MORE, What Is Love?, Likey, Dance the Night Away, and Heart Shaker. Meanwhile, the group's hits Feel Special and FANCY are now going Gold.
BTS's Dynamite Received Gold Certifications
After surpassing 30 million streams for their 2018 title track IDOL, BTS received silver certification. Furthermore, the septet has also gone silver in Japan with Fake Love, Lights, DNA, and Stay Gold. This is apart from Dynamite and Boy With Luv, which has now both been certified Gold.
Apart from the Korean superstars' silver certifications, after surpassing 50 million streams, BTS's hit single Dynamite received an official gold certification. The full- English song of the septet now becomes the fastest song by a Korean artist ever to achieve the feat.
BTS's 2019 song Boy With Luv was the first to earn a gold streaming certification from the RIAJ. This means that the group is now holding two gold certifications issued by RIAJ.
Lastly, with BIGBANG's 2015 hit BANG BANG BANG, the group earned their very first RIAJ streaming certification.
The above mentioned achieved certifications by BTS, TWICE, and BIGBANG is the latest release dating in October 2020. As per the new system, once a song reaches 30 million streams, it becomes certified silver. Gold is achieved with 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.
