Go Ara And Lee Jae Wook Talk About Their Roles In A Press Conference For 'Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol'
The romantic comedy "Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol" held a press conference with lead stars Go Ara and Lee Jae Wook, the director, and the cast!
The drama follows the energetic pianist named Goo La La (played by Go Ara). And Sun Woo Joon (played by Lee Jae Wook), an expert part-timer who bumped on each other's fate at a piano academy called La La Land in a small countryside village.
Director And Screenwriter: 'Go Ara Is The Perfect Choice For The Role'
Goo La La was described by the producing director (PD) Kim Min Kyung as a character who is never before seen in a Korean rom-com but one that suits Go Ara to a tee. Go Ara shared that she enjoyed many rom-com as a viewer, and she always wanted to do the genre. After being offered the role, although it is her first time doing it, she realized that this is the perfect time to grab and fulfill her dreams.
The actress continued that her character is a lot like Rapunzel from Tangled. Rapunzel grew up obedient to her one parent, with only her pet for company. The world of her name begins to change when she meets Sun Woo Joon at La La Land.
As per the screenwriter of the drama, she described Go Ara to be a 200 percent match for the character. And with the statement, Go Ara replied that she thinks it's just 99 percent and she'll leave about a 1 percent gap. Addedly, Go Ara said that she had practiced piano for already 3-4 months to prepare for her role. And although she plays piano as a hobby, she still wanted to improve her playing of more impressive songs for the drama.
Lee Jae Wook's First Lead Role
Making his debut in 2018, Lee Jae Wook starred in Memories of the Alhambra. The actor also played a supporting role in Search: WWW in 2019 and became the second male lead in Extraordinary You. In 2020, Lee Jae Wook played another supporting role in I'll Go To You When The Weather Is Nice. The actor's appearance in Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol is his first lead role in a mini-series so far.
Regarding the actor's stint in acting for the first two years, he shared that he can't say that it wasn't a lot of pressure to take on his first lead role. But he comes to the set with a lot on his mind. But the actor is thankful for having a director and cast who are all easygoing people, and they helped him adjust quickly.
The Set's Moodmaker
The cast agreed that Goo La La's dog "Mimi" becomes the set's mood maker. Go Ara then shared that when Mimi arrives, the atmosphere on set brightens. The PD revealed that Mimi has previously worked as a dog actor, but the drama is her first time as a lead character.
It can be recalled that Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, due to one of its actors testing positive for COVID-19, had pause filming. The PD shared that it is true that the premiere date of the drama had to be delayed. They remained calm about responding to the positive test. And fortunately, no further transmissions were recorded. "It's behind us now, but we're also more careful."
