JTBC '18 Again' Holds An Online Press Conference And Talked About The Drama's Characters
JTBC’s new drama “18 Again” held an online press conference with director Ha Byung Hoon and actors Yoon Sang Hyun, Kim Ha Neul, Kim Yoo Ri, Lee Do Hyun, and Wi Ha Joon.
Director Ha Byung Woo stated that the drama started with whether a wife could fall in love again after losing her husband and seeing him return to how they first fell in love for the first time. The drama “18 Again” is the director’s first project at JTBC after the success of his last project, “Go Back Couple.”
Kim Ha Neul plays Jung Da Jung, who got married at the young age of 18 and gave birth to twins. Now that her children are older, she attempts to pursue her dreams of becoming an announcer.
She did not mind even if she is older than most of her colleagues. Kim Ha Neul defended her character and said that she is a working mom who gave up her family dreams.
Jung Da Jung decided to leave her husband and pursue what she wants from her life. Kim Ha Neul can relate to her character as a working mom.
Before Kim Ha Neul got married, she would have the time to read her scripts. But now, she needs to work a lot harder since she is a mother. Her child is still young, unlike Jung Da Jung’s children, who are already in high school. It is a little bit different, but there are a lot of similarities.
In Lee Do Hyun’s part, he said he read the script many times, and Yoon Sang Hyun worked to try to match his tone. He wanted the viewers to be able to accept that they are the same character. He tried copying Yoon Sang Hyun’s way of talking and got praised, and he gained more confidence.
Lastly, Yoon Sang Hyun said that family is more important than work for him. As he plays the character, he did not know how precious his family is, and he could be in the same situation.
Yoon Song Hyun wondered how Hong Dae Young could act like that even if his wife, Kim Ha Neul, is beautiful. (Via Soompi)
