Seungri Admits One Out Of Eight Charges Filed Against Him
On September 16, Seungri had his first hearing held at the Ground Operations Command’s general military court. The side of Seungri denied all the charges except the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transitions Act.
Seungri is accused with eight charges, including the purchase of prostitution services, robbery, prostitution mediation, violation of the Act of the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes, an additional charge for the theft of a sum exceeding of a certain amount, habitual gambling, violation of the Food Sanitation Act, breach of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes, and violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.
After his enlistment, last March, Seungri’s case was transferred to the military courts.
Seungri is suspected of arranging a prostitution service for some foreign investors to draw them and make investments for his business between December 2015 and January 2016. During the said time, he was alleged to purchase prostitution services for himself.
At court, the legal representative of Seungri stated that he has no motive to mediate prostitution. Seungri did not play any role in Yoo In Suk’s mediation prostitution.
Yoo In Suk, the former CEO of Yuri Holdings, pleaded guilty to the charges, including the said prostitution mediation last June.
Regarding the allegations that Seungri purchased some prostitution services for himself, his legal representative said that Seungri did not remember any happenings that he had intercourse with a woman in question. The woman he thought was someone who Yoo In Suk sent because she wants to meet him.
Moreover, regarding the suspicions that he filmed and spread illegal footage, Seungri’s side stated that he did not take the photos himself. He only shared the picture sent to him by an adult entertainment establishment through a group chat with his friends.
Seungri and his legal representatives admitted to one charge, which is the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transitions Act, and they said that Seungri was reflecting on his wrongdoing. (Via Soompi)
