2AM's Lim Seoulong Is Being Summoned After Causing A Fatal Accident
KPOPSTARZ recently reported that the police confirmed that they plan to send actor and artist Lim Seulong to the prosecution. The K-pop singer has allegedly caused a civilian's death when hit by his SUV while traveling on the street on a stormy day.
According to the Seoul Seobu Police Station on Wednesday (August 12), the said office is expected to send him to the indictment prosecution. The prosecution's judgment means that the police judged that Lim was guilty. However, the police did not reveal the exact charges that he will be dealing with.
The SSP reportedly to summon Lim Seoulong within this week before delivering him over to the prosecution next week. Lim Seulong accidentally killed a jaywalking pedestrian and the Digital Media City (DMC) Station in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, on the night of August 1 (Saturday). At that time, the victim has allegedly slowly walked out of the crosswalk where the red light was on and crashed into the Lim Seoulong's vehicle. The victim was taken to the hospital but was declared dead due to the victim's injuries.
Lim Seulong had been interrogated at the police station shortly after the incident occurred. The police are expected to confirm the artist's charges: negligent homicide and other crimes under the Special Act on the Handling of Traffic Accidents.
According to Soompi, the agency handling Lim Seuolong, Jellyfish Entertainment, released an official statement that confirms their artist's involvement in the recent unfortunate event. They also sent their letter condolences and apologies to the victims' families.
Days after the unfortunate incident, Korean Newspaper, Joongang Ilbo, revealed the accident's CCTV footage, which happened in a flash; As seen in the video, the victim crossed the street while the traffic light is on red. He was wearing black and also holding a black umbrella on a rainy evening. As he was slowly approaching the edge of the crosswalk, the artists' SUV was in speed but tried to break but could not do so due to the slippery road caused by the rain, therefore, hitting the victim.
