Super Junior’s Choi Siwon And Jin Goo Share The Excitement And Thrill They Experienced In ‘Yacht Expedition’
MBC every1’s variety show Yacht Expedition (LT), held a press conference on August 12 with its cast and crew.
Per Soompi, Yacht Expedition is a documentary-style variety program following four men sailing on a yacht together at the Pacific Ocean with a challenge.
Kim Seung Jin acts as the captain of the ship. He is an accomplished sailor who was the first Korean to sail a solo, non-stop journey without assistance successfully.
Meanwhile, Jin Goo, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, Song Ho Jun, and singer Jang Ki Ha were also cast on the show. Another cast involves the writer and media artist who was the first to launch a self-built, privately owner satellite into orbit.
The producing director (PD) Song Ji Woong at the press conference said that he’s been preparing the show for about two years. For the cast, he said that he searched for people he thought would enjoy the challenge.
When asked about who’s the most adventurous, he revealed that he cast Jin Goo and Jang Ki Ha because they frequently come in. He also said that he added Choi Siwon because the idol knew some people in the SM Entertainment, and included Song Ji Woong as heard stories that the celebrity wants to take many challenges and adventures.
Song Ji Woong shared that he knew Song Ho Jun’s satellite through “Radio Star.” He said that he doesn’t have an Entertainer’s disposition, so Song Ji Woong wondered if Song Ho Jun gets along with the other cast members, but since he is in a similar age, so Song Ji Woong thought it would be just fine. “Everyone was better than I expected.”
Captain Kim Seung Ji said in the interview that he thought a lot about how to get first-time sailors accustomed to the yacht. He shared that each person has a different speed at which they adjust to things. “Even if want quickly to adjust, that’s not always possible. But the cast adjusted pretty well.”
Jin Goo expressed that he decided to appear because he had infinite faith in the captain. Jin Goo shared that he received a shock bigger than he imagined. The celebrity also hopes that he would learn from the people he will be with, who lived entirely different lives from him. He also noted that he got the chance to put down his cellphone and live life to the fullest.
Furthermore, Choi Si Won also said in the interview that the group he’s with is a combination of people that are hard to find. He expressed that he wanted to work with the members and the captain, so he quickly decided. He also noted that the captain took good care of them, and he learned a lot from him.
Jang Ki Ha, on the other hand, shared that it was hard to be in a place that day and night wouldn’t stop moving. He also expressed that he was grateful to be standing on the ground that didn’t move after returning to the land.
Finally, Song Ho Jun said that he felt pressured about going on the show with people who are often on TV, but admitted that he didn’t have any high expectations. Upon deciding to go to the show, he shared that he enjoyed life out there, but what’s sad is that sometimes he had to go to the bathroom with open air.
The Yacht Expedition will air on August 17 at 8:30 PM, KST.
