Jimin and Jungkook Promoted to Private: BTS Members Fully Engaged in Military Service
Jimin and Jungkook of BTS have completed their basic military training, marking the start of full military service for all members of BTS. According to industry sources on the 17th, Jimin and Jungkook completed their basic military training at the Army's 5th Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, and will begin their active duty service at the same location.
The division where Jimin and Jungkook are starting their military service is the same one where Jin, the eldest member of BTS, is currently serving as a training instructor. As a result, the three will live together in the same division until Jin completes his military service. Jin was the first among the members to enlist in December 2022 and currently holds the rank of Corporal. The meeting of Corporal Jin with Privates Jimin and Jungkook is of interest.
RM and V, who enlisted a day before Jimin and Jungkook, had their completion ceremony a day earlier. On the 16th, RM and V completed their basic military training at the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungcheongnam-do and were assigned to their respective units. RM continues his service as an active-duty soldier, while V, who volunteered for the Special Mission Troop (SDT) of the Capital Defense Command before enlistment, is receiving additional training.
Before the completion ceremonies of RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook, Big Hit Music urged fans to prevent confusion and avoid sending letters and gifts, as the military bases are used by all soldiers and are spaces for military training. The agency also encouraged fans to send warm messages through hashtags on Weverse, where the artists can directly check them. Fans were asked to refrain from visiting the sites of the completion ceremonies to prevent safety accidents and to support BTS with their hearts.
J-Hope and Suga are also diligently fulfilling their military duties. J-Hope, following Jin, enlisted in April 2022 and is currently serving as an active-duty soldier, while Suga is serving as a public service worker since completing his training center course in September last year. Until Jin and J-Hope are discharged later this year, all seven members will be fulfilling their military duties. Jin is expected to be discharged on June 12th, and J-Hope on October 17th. RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin are scheduled for discharge in June 2025.
Everyone is already looking forward to the activities of BTS when they reunite in 2025 after completing their national defense duties.
