According to YG Entertainment on October 12th, BLACKPINK's 'BOOMBAYAH' dance video surpassed 300 million views around 10:40 PM the previous day. This achievement comes approximately 7 years and 2 months after its release.
'BOOMBAYAH' is one of the double title tracks from BLACKPINK's debut single album 'SQUARE ONE', which was released in August 2016. With its powerful drum beats and unique synth sounds, the chorus captivated listeners, earning love from music fans worldwide.
Not only their music videos but also their dance videos continue to amass hundreds of millions of views, showcasing BLACKPINK's unique appeal. Among BLACKPINK's 43 videos with over 100 million views, 'BOOMBAYAH' is the sixth dance video to surpass 300 million, highlighting the global fans' fervent interest in their performances.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK recently successfully concluded their 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR-BORN PINK', the largest-scale world tour by a K-pop girl group, attracting over 1.8 million attendees. Including their historic performance as the first Asian artist headliners at the U.S. Coachella Festival (a combined 250,000 attendees over two days) and the UK's Hyde Park (65,000 attendees), they engaged with a staggering total of over 2,115,000 fans.
