BTS's Jungkook Named Among The Hollywood Reporter's 'Platinum Players'
BTS's Jungkook has been recognized as one of the top artists in the United States.
On September 20th (local time), the esteemed U.S. entertainment outlet, The Hollywood Reporter, announced its list of 'The Hollywood Reporter's 25 Platinum Players in Music'. Jungkook was the only K-pop artist to make the cut.
The Hollywood Reporter curated this list by selecting 25 artists who have defined the year and consistently topped various music charts. Jungkook stands shoulder to shoulder with global superstars like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
The Hollywood Reporter commented that It's usually not easy for artists to transition to a solo career after being part of a global group, but BTS's Jungkook has seamlessly made that shift. They highlighted his solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' which clinched the top spot on Billboard's main song chart, the 'Hot 100'. Adding, "'Seven' has performed exceptionally well worldwide, dominating as the number one global song on Billboard in the summer of 2023."
In addition, The Hollywood Reporter shed light on the individual activities of other BTS members, stating, "Jimin hit the number one spot on the Billboard 'Hot 100' this year with 'Like Crazy', and other 'brothers' from BTS, like V and Suga, are also enjoying their successes."
Meanwhile, Jungkook is set to make history as the first Korean solo artist to headline the '2023 Global Citizen Festival', which will be held at Central Park in New York at 5 a.m. (Korean time) on the 24th.
