BTS Jungkook's 'Seven' Continues its Reign: 6 Weeks Atop Global Music Charts
BTS's Jungkook's solo single "Seven" continues to dominate major global music charts for the sixth consecutive week, proving its meteoric rise and sustained popularity. Released on July 14th, "Seven" clinched the top spot on the "United World Chart" track section of the global album sales aggregator, 'Media Traffic', as of September 2nd.
On this chart, which aggregates the most popular tracks based on global streaming, download sales, and radio airplay, "Seven" recorded 368,000 points, maintaining its number one position for six straight weeks.
Furthermore, "Seven" ascended to the top of India's official chart, 'IMI', for the International Top 20 Singles for an unprecedented six consecutive weeks for a K-pop solo artist. It also secured the top spot for seven consecutive weeks on the Netherlands Global Top 40 chart.
The song's dominance wasn't limited to these charts. On September 2nd, "Seven" ranked first for six consecutive weeks on the Billboard charts for Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. In Hong Kong, the song has been at the pinnacle for five weeks.
Additionally, the Recording Industry Association Singapore (RIAS) placed "Seven" at number one for six consecutive weeks on both the RIAS Top Reservoir Chart and Top Digital Chart, setting a record for a K-pop solo artist. The Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) also saw "Seven" topping its International Single Top 20 Chart for five consecutive weeks.
Moreover, on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, "Seven" continued its streak by ranking first on the Korean daily chart for 49 consecutive days, Japan's daily top song chart, Apple Music Korea's top 100 chart, and YouTube Music Korea's top 100 popular songs chart. Remarkably, "Seven" became the first song by an Asian artist to top Spotify's Weekly Global Top Song chart for seven weeks and the Daily Global Top Song chart for 49 days. It also simultaneously ranked first on Billboard's 'Global 200' and 'Global Excl. U.S.' charts for six weeks, showcasing its enduring global appeal.
