TREASURE's Unexpected Follow-Up: 'B.O.M.B' Tops U.S. Billboard Hot Trending Songs, New MV on the Way
Boy group TREASURE has made a surprise decision to promote "B.O.M.B" from their second full album as their follow-up track, riding on the wave of global fan enthusiasm.
On September 1, their agency YG Entertainment announced, "TREASURE's track 'B.O.M.B' from the second album 'REBOOT' will be released in September, along with a newly arranged music video."
Following this, TREASURE successfully completed the music video shoot for "B.O.M.B" over two days, on the 30th and 31st of last month, in Gyeonggi Province. With some lyrics revised and instrumental arrangements updated, the song promises a fresh charm that has global fans eagerly waiting.
The decision to promote a non-title track in this manner is quite unusual. YG explained that this move was in response to fans' requests and overwhelming support for "B.O.M.B."
In fact, "B.O.M.B" has been gaining immense popularity on various global platforms without any formal promotion. The song topped the U.S. Billboard "Hot Trending Songs" chart, reflecting trending songs and topics on Twitter. On major music platforms like TikTok and YouTube, various dance challenges created by fans are rapidly spreading. Videos with related hashtags have surpassed 11 million views, indicating a growing trend.
YG Entertainment added, "We've prepared a special gift so global fans can enjoy even more. From TREASURE's dance challenges to content rivaling music show performances, we ask for your continued anticipation."
"B.O.M.B" is a dance genre track, with members Jun-kyu, Yoshi, and Haruto participating in both songwriting and composition. The song, characterized by its dreamy lead sound and impactful string sound, cleverly describes the experience of falling in love. Its catchy lyrics have resonated strongly with music fans.
Meanwhile, TREASURE's second full album 'REBOOT' has recorded top positions on iTunes album charts in major regions including Asia, South America, and Europe. The title track "BONA BONA" achieved first place in 20 countries on the iTunes song chart and made an impressive entry into the Billboard Global Excl. U.S chart.
Including domestic sales, exports to Asia and North America, the album has recorded sales of 1.71 million copies, crowning them as million-sellers on the Circle Chart. In Japan, they achieved first place on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart, Billboard Japan's "Hot Albums," and "Top Albums Sales."
