BTS Jungkook Breaks Records: First K-pop Soloist to Surpass 35 Million Monthly Listeners on Spotify
BTS Jungkook shines a global spotlight by becoming the first K-pop solo artist to breach 35 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
With the fastest achievement of over 9 million followers as an Asian solo artist, Jungkook's Spotify profile has recorded an impressive 35,379,652 monthly listeners. This accomplishment propelled him to rank 88th globally, showcasing his unparalleled vocal prowess and immense popularity.
On August 12th, 'Chart Data', a platform that provides real-time updates on worldwide music charts, highlighted Jungkook's monumental achievement on its official account, stating, "Jungkook has made history on Spotify by becoming the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 35 million monthly listeners."
Before the release of his solo single "Seven" in July, Jungkook had approximately 13 million monthly listeners, which surged by over 22 million in just a month. It's noteworthy to mention that unlike accumulated streaming on Spotify, monthly listeners are only counted once per individual, making the 35 million+ figure all the more significant.
As of August 13th, "Seven" reigned supreme on Spotify's 'Daily Global Top Songs' chart for 30 consecutive days. This feat marked Jungkook as the Asian artist with both the first and longest presence at the pinnacle of this chart.
Earlier, "Seven" surpassed global hits like Miley Cyrus's "Flowers", Justin Bieber x The Kid LAROI's "STAY", Adele's "Easy on Me", and Harry Styles's "As It Was". Remarkably, "Seven" achieved 50 million streams in just 3 days and a staggering 100 million within 6 days, setting records for the fastest durations. Moreover, Jungkook's "Seven" achieved 200 million streams in a record 14 days, and 300 million in just 23 days (before filtering).
Further solidifying its monumental success, "Seven" set world records on Spotify's global chart, garnering the highest weekly streams for a male artist's track with 89,748,171 streams (after filtering), and the quickest to reach 100 million streams (after filtering). This impressive streak led to its official inclusion in the UK's 'Guinness World Records'.
