BTS Becomes Youngest Recipient Of James Van Fleet Award + Launches New BTS-Inspired Dolls
BTS has been receiving numerous awards this year from the academy and their fans, the ARMY. In addition to the list of their achievements, the boyband bags another award for success for being the youngest recipient of a James Van Fleet Award from the Korean Society.
According to reports, BTS will be one of this year’s recipients of the James Van Fleet Award for their contributions to the K-pop industry. The most exciting part of the award is that the male group will be the youngest recipient of the said award. BTS will receive the prize virtually during The Korean Society’s 2020 Annual Gala on October 7.
Aside from BTS, the James Van Fleet Award will also be given to the US Korean War Veterans, which will be accepted by the Honorable Charles B. Rangel, Salvatore Scarlato (President of Korean War Association – Department of New York), and Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry which will be accepted by Yongmaan Park.
Meanwhile, BTS is set to launch TinyTan, a BTS-inspired animated character with the help of Big Hit Entertainment. The agency also participated in launching the BT21 characters with LINE and a doll collection with Mattel, and now, the agency has unveiled TinyTan with upgraded looks to synchronize with the real BTS members.
Big Entertainment plans to introduce the BTS dolls in many forms, including figures, other items, and media content. The global fan commerce platform Weverse Shop will endorse the products and release a sequel containing new stories within the year. TinyTan will also collaborate with other brands and licensing.
Big Hit Entertainment stated, “Each of the BTS members has a distinct personality, and that allowed the creation of a highly perfected character called TinyTan that doesn’t come second to any famous character series.” The agency continues to state that the dolls will have various forms and serves as a healing content to anyone who was big dreams.
