Singer Baek Ye-bin Files Lawsuit Against Malicious Commenters, Declares 'No Settlement or Leniency'
Singer Baek Ye-bin has filed a lawsuit against netizens who attacked her personally and posted malicious comments.
On July 25, Baek Ye-bin's agency, Yum Yum Entertainment, stated, "There have been continuous personal attacks, malicious comments, sexual harassment, stalking, and indiscriminate posts based on false information directed at Baek Ye-bin," and "We have gathered evidence and materials through monitoring and reports as we determined that the situation had reached an intolerable level."
The agency added, "We have filed a complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against those who have continuously written malicious comments and posts on communities and SNS that are socially unacceptable, on charges of violating Paragraph 1 of Article 44-7 of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. Even posts that were promptly deleted to leave no trace were captured and collected in real time for monitoring and passed on to the investigative agencies."
The agency stated, "There will be no settlement or leniency during the legal process related to the violation of our artist's rights," and "We inform you that we will take severe legal measures to prevent similar incidents. We are continually monitoring and ask fans to actively report to the agency's legal response account."
Meanwhile, Baek Ye-bin made her singing debut as a member of the girl group DIA in 2015 and started her solo career in earnest in June with her first single 'Flying Cloud'.
