Japan's top actress Ryoko Hirosue, embroiled in an infidelity scandal, has finally announced her divorce from her husband, Candle June.

According to Japanese media reports on July 23, Ryoko Hirosue posted on her official website, "June and I have agreed to divorce through discussion and have submitted the divorce papers."

She added, "I have custody of the children and continue to live with them as before. I had a lot of concern about whether to announce the divorce, fearing it might cause further personal commotion. However, I decided to announce it, hoping that this report will wrap up the matter and prevent further anxiety and worries for the children."

She continued, "I request restraint in excessive coverage regarding the children. I sincerely thank those who have given positive comments and support."

Previously, Ryoko Hirosue was engulfed by allegations of an affair with the owner-chef of a popular French restaurant, which has consistently won one star in the Michelin Guide for four years, revealed by the Japanese weekly magazine 'Shukan Bunshun' on July 7.

According to the report, in mid-May, Hirosue visited the restaurant run by Shusaku Toba in shorts, where they were seen leaning on each other and conversing. In early June, the two were spotted staying in the same hotel, which was quite shocking.

Afterwards, the 'love letters' exchanged between Hirosue and her lover, Shusaku Toba, were revealed, causing a ripple effect. Following the infidelity scandal, Hirosue's husband, Candle June, stated at a press conference, "I was aware of some of it," suggesting that his wife was mentally unstable.
