MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul Flaunts Distinct Vocals in Punch’s ‘Say Yes’ Remake
The main rapper of MAMAMOO showcases, not just her rapping, but also her unique vocal color in Punch’s remake of her song ‘Say Yes’.
The song was first released as one of the original sound tracks for the popular drama ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’ back in 2016. In the original release, Punch collaborated with rapper Loco.
For the 2020 remake of the song, Punch chose to collaborate with rapper Moonbyul.
Punch and Moonbyul’s friendship can be seen through the newly released MV for ‘Say Yes’. The MV shows the recording session for the remake, where both idols seem to enjoy recording together.
Fans of both idols are enjoying the beautiful combination of their contrasting vocals.
Moonbyul is popular for her low registers or her deep voice that blends well with the strong vocals of the members of her group. She is considered to be one of the best rappers in the industry. Paired with her boyish and conservative style, it’s no wonder she is mostly attracting the female fans.
Before debuting with MAMAMOO in 2014, Moonbyul was initially groomed to debut as a main vocal. However, Solar, her co-trainee at that time and now leader of MAMAMOO, suggested that Moonbyul might do well in rapping because of her low voice.
Moonbyul gave it a go and debuted with MAMAMOO as both the main rapper and main dancer.
As for the fans of the drama ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo’, the remake of the OST brings back all kinds of feelings as the story of the hit drama ended on a sad note.
Since the drama ended back in 2016, a lot of the fans have been demanding for a second season, sending petitions to the writer and producer, hoping for a better ending for the main leads.
Fans of the drama are supporting the release of the remake, in hopes for another season of the drama.
