'NBC's TODAY' anchor Craig Melvin introduced TWICE as the "history-making queens of K-pop," while the members commemorated the meaningful moment by delivering greetings in English to the throng of fans filling the plaza. TWICE showcased band versions of two songs that swept the Billboard main charts in 2023: the English version of the title track 'SET ME FREE' from their 12th mini-album 'READY TO BE' (which reached 2nd on the Billboard 200 in March), and their English single 'MOONLIGHT SUNRISE,' which achieved their second entry in the Billboard Hot 100. They also performed 'Alcohol-Free,' which perfectly complements the early summer season, winning fans' hearts.
The Rockefeller Center Plaza was filled to the brim with fans gathered to see TWICE. Lengthy lines had formed from the previous day, and when the members appeared, the crowd exploded with cheers, chants, and a sing-along that echoed the atmosphere of a full-blown concert. Dressed in outfits from the 'SET ME FREE' music video, TWICE responded to the overwhelming love and hospitality with powerful energy, a lyrical atmosphere, and captivating allure, showcasing various charms according to each song. The landmark of New York, bathed in the pink light of fan-waved candy bongs, overflowed with romanticism combined with the stage effect of soap bubbles.
As part of their fifth world tour, 'TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR 'READY TO BE',' TWICE will host a solo concert at the New York MetLife Stadium on July 6th. Having sold out the entire SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles to an audience of 50,000 in June, TWICE also achieved early ticket sell-outs for the MetLife Stadium. This achievement makes them the first female group in history to not only perform but also sell out in two of the biggest stadium venues in the United States - SoFi Stadium and MetLife Stadium.
TWICE's solo concert at the MetLife Stadium is scheduled to raise its grand curtain at 7:30 PM local time on July 6th.
