BLACKPINK's debut track, 'BOOMBAYAH,' has reached a milestone with its music video surpassing 1.6 billion views.
According to YG Entertainment on July 4th, the music video for BLACKPINK's 'BOOMBAYAH' exceeded 1.6 billion views on YouTube at around 6:49 a.m. on the same day. This achievement comes nearly six years and eleven months after the video's release.
The music video for 'BOOMBAYAH' becomes the third BLACKPINK video to join the 1.6 billion view club, following 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' (2 billion views) and 'Kill This Love' (1.8 billion views).
'BOOMBAYAH' is one of the double title tracks from BLACKPINK's debut single album 'SQUARE ONE,' released in August 2016. The song is known for its addictive chorus and exciting drum beats.
BLACKPINK's official YouTube channel continues to grow steadily. The cumulative number of views for their videos has reached 31.9 billion, and the number of subscribers to their official YouTube channel has exceeded 89.6 million, making them the top subscribed channel across all male and female artists worldwide.
Particularly, their 'DDU-DU DDU-DU' music video, which holds the title of the first, highest, and most viewed music video by a K-pop group, is on the verge of breaking 2.1 billion views, fueling anticipation for the group's continuous record-breaking journey.
