Olivia Rodrigo Returns: Releasing New Single 'Vampire' on June 30 and Second Album 'GUTS' in September
Rising star Olivia Rodrigo is set to unveil her new song to the world.
Universal Music announced on June 29 that Rodrigo will release her new single "Vampire" via music platforms worldwide on the 30th.
The new song "Vampire" sees Rodrigo again collaborating with Dan Nigro, the producer of her debut album "SOUR." Nigro is a star producer who has worked with her on hit songs like "drivers license" and "good 4 u." The pair were honored at the 64th Grammy Awards, winning in the 'Best Pop Vocal Album' category.
Ahead of the new song's release, Rodrigo heightened anticipation by sharing the album cover and scenes from the music video on her social media accounts.
Furthermore, Rodrigo will release her second full-length album "GUTS" on September 8, following the announcement of "Vampire". Regarding this album, she revealed, "This album is about growing pains and my efforts to understand who I am at this point in my life," thereby fueling anticipation.
Olivia Rodrigo stormed the music scene in January 2021 with her debut single "drivers license," topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart and maintaining that position for eight consecutive weeks. Her debut album "SOUR," released in May, also topped the Billboard 200 chart, with its track "good 4 u" once again topping the Hot 100, establishing her as an icon of Generation Z by consistently ranking high on global music charts.
Rodrigo was the artist who defined 2021. Her debut single "drivers license," released in January, holds the record for the most streamed song of 2021, and her debut album "SOUR" surpassed 5 billion streams on Spotify, making it the most streamed album of the year.
Rodrigo cemented her place as a popular artist at the 64th Grammy Awards, claiming three top prizes. She won one of the four major awards, 'Best New Artist,' along with 'Best Pop Solo Performance' and 'Best Pop Vocal Album.'
