Comedian Kim Tae-ho's 5th Death Anniversary Today: Gunsan Arson Incident Still Sends Shocks
Today marks the 5th death anniversary of comedian Kim Tae-ho.
June 17 (KST) marks the 5th anniversary of Kim Tae-ho's tragic passing. On June 17, 2018, he died in a fire incident at a bar located in Gunsan City, Jeollabuk-do. He was 51 at the time of his death.
The news of Kim Tae-ho's death was a shock to everyone. The fire incident at the time turned out to be an arson case. A man in his 50s, bearing a grudge over a $100 bar bill, intentionally set the bar on fire.
Three people, including Kim Tae-ho, who was at the bar at the time, died, and about 30 others were injured. Kim Tae-ho was at the bar as he stopped by for a golf tournament event. It is even more heartbreaking to think that the event was initially scheduled to take place in Chungbuk Danyang, but due to circumstances, it was changed to Gunsan.
Kim Tae-ho worked as a professional event MC until his death. Debuting in 1991 as a comedian through the 8th open recruitment of KBS, he was loved for his appearances on KBS2's 'Comedy Worlds and Worlds', KBS1's '6 O'clock My Hometown', 'Good Morning Korea', and more.
He also made appearances in dramas. He gave outstanding performances in dramas like 'Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang', 'You're a Star', 'Suh Dong's Song', and in 2013, he was awarded the Merit Award at the 21st Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards, making his mark in the entertainment industry.
Kim Tae-ho's untimely death shocked the public, and the longing for him remains unabated.
