Stray Kids Triumphantly Confirms 4-City Japanese Dome Tour and Special Concert in Seoul
The sensational K-pop group, Stray Kids, is set to take the Japanese music scene by storm, as they gear up for their debut dome tour and an electrifying special concert in Seoul.
On the afternoon of the 12th, JYP Entertainment officially unveiled the poster for the Stray Kids debut dome tour, 'Stray Kids 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023', on their social media channels. As per the announcement, Stray Kids is set to kick off the grand dome tour on August 16-17 at the Fukuoka PayPay Dome in Japan. The tour will continue through September 2-3 at the Vantelin Dome Nagoya, September 9-10 at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, and culminate on October 28-29 at the Tokyo Dome. Moreover, the K-pop sensation will be staging a special concert at the KSPO DOME in Seoul on September 30 and October 1.
In making this tour a reality, Stray Kids becomes the first fourth-generation K-pop boy band to break into Japan's four major dome concert venues. Following their successful six-show run in Kobe and Tokyo as part of their 'Stray Kids 2nd World Tour "MANIAC"' in June and July of 2022, the band has sparked intense interest and sold out all their concerts within five minutes of ticket sales. With the audience's support, they performed an encore concert in the Tokyo Saitama Super Arena and Kyocera Dome Osaka on February 11-12 and 25-26, respectively, experiencing the roar of 130,000 fans firsthand.
Their recent album '5-STAR' has dominated various charts, including the iTunes album chart in Japan, the Tower Records daily sales chart, and the Oricon weekly digital album ranking. Six months after their last performance at the Kyocera Dome Osaka in February, and nearly three years after their local debut, Stray Kids is ready to show their exponential growth with an expanded 4-city dome tour.
To reciprocate the immense support and love from their fans, the group will also stage a special concert, dubbed 'Seoul Special', at the KSPO DOME. The specially-named event promises to offer a unique version of their performance, expected to satisfy their local fandom, STAY. This will mark Stray Kids' third appearance at the KSPO DOME. They had previously successfully completed their first solo concert at the KSPO DOME as an additional Seoul performance of their second world tour in September of the previous year, and are set to hold their third official fan meeting, 'Stray Kids 3RD FANMEETING 'PILOT : FOR 5-STAR'', on July 1-2.
Earlier this year, Stray Kids revealed their ambitious 2023 plans through a video called 'Stray Kids "STEP OUT 2023"' on their official social media channel, hinting at a comprehensive and active year ahead. The upcoming KSPO DOME concert underlines their promise to host a 'special concert', spotlighting their highly-acclaimed performance skills that will undoubtedly captivate audiences at the expansive dome venues.
Following their comeback with the release of their third regular album '5-STAR' and title song 'Special' on June 2, Stray Kids reached new heights by topping the Billboard 200 chart for the third consecutive time, marking an incredible achievement. Following their two mini albums 'ODDINARY' and 'MAXIDENT' released in 2022, their first album of 2023 made it straight to the top of the main Billboard chart with a record-breaking 249,500 copies sold in combined album and streaming sales. This firmly establishes them as a leading force in the K-pop scene.
The ever-growing Stray Kids, now shining brighter than ever, is all set to reciprocate the immense love of fans through their Japanese 4-City Dome Tour and the special concert in South Korea.
