Former Lovelyz member MIJOO steps out as a solo artist.

On May 17th, MIJOO released her first single album 'Movie Star' and announced her leap as a solo artist. 'Movie Star' is an album showcasing MIJOO's identity, blending her unique colors into both music and performance.

On the day of the album release, MIJOO held a media showcase at Shinhan pLay Square Live Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul. As a solo artist on stage, MIJOO said, "I regret not taking an anti-anxiety pill. I'm more nervous than my first debut," revealing her tense appearance.

However, as soon as the photo time began, MIJOO filled the venue with her bright, playful energy.

This album is significant as it marks her first solo singer debut in 9 years and her first release since moving to Antenna after the expiration of her exclusive contract with Woollim Entertainment last year.

MIJOO performs as a broadcaster under the name Lee MIJOO and as a singer under the name MIJOO. Regarding the difference, she explained, "I wanted to differentiate the image of MIJOO on TV and MIJOO on stage. If I do my best on TV to bring happiness and laughter, on stage, I want to be MIJOO who achieves dreams and always takes on new challenges."

Making her solo debut after 9 years, MIJOO shows off her evolved musical prowess with the title track 'Movie Star' and the included track 'I Miss You.' The title track, 'Movie Star,' is characterized by its addictive disco rhythm based on house, with a dynamic melody structure that creates synergy with MIJOO's bright energy.

MIJOO, who worked on the album for a year, said, "I loved it as soon as I heard it. My opinions were well reflected," and added, "I wondered what I wanted to do and what I could do well." MIJOO, who empathized with the lyrics, explained, "As a child, I wanted to become an entertainer after watching them on TV, and that feeling is captured in the lyrics."

For MIJOO's solo debut, fellow Antenna artists supported her. Lee Hyo-ri and actor Lee Yi-kyung from 'Hangout with Yoo' appeared in the music video, and Jung Seung-hwan did the narration.

MIJOO said, "Thanks to their willing participation, 'Movie Star' came to life even more. I've always admired Lee Hyo-ri, and she appears as a top star in the music video. It was no joke. Yi-kyung also played the same role as a famous actor in real life."
