Here's How K-pop Idols Date In Secret
K-pop idols dating fellow idols will always be controversial, as "fans" and netizens do not support this type of relationship, claiming it as "betraying" their supporters.
That's why celebrities typically meet in secret, to avoid controversies. A YouTube channel called Doyouram – Everyday K-Culture recorded a few instances where Korean stars spoke about pursuing idols and noticed that idols have quite a few strategies that they use to secretly to date.
Here's a list of several methods that they're using. (via Koreaboo)
PROPER LOCATION
One of the most popular things that celebrities do to date is choosing places where supporters or media are less likely to catch them. Idols may go to the Han River at nighttime in the old days because there were few vehicles or people there.
That is no longer possible, as fans and media gradually learned that this was where idols go. Nowadays, celebrities go to different spots, such as small theatres. Another location celebrities go-to date privately is in their cars, because not many people will be able to see them inside. Many stars go to their residences even on weekends, if they reside alone.
RELYING INFORMATION SAFELY AND DISCREETLY
Idols also meet by sneakily passing details. In the old days, idols would slip bits of paper containing details on them as they gave their CDs around. Today, on their social media profiles, idols only DM each other. Idols often ask people like employees to send on contact details or send messages.
SEEING EACH OTHER ON SHOWS
Idols also interact when they are featuring in the same series. The Idol Star Athletic Championships is a popular venue where dating celebrities express thoughts among themselves.
Pop stars also attempt during this time to get contact details about someone they're interested in. Idols often encounter each other when they participate in the same music program because there are certain blind spots where they apparently can't get noticed.
