Eight Years of Labels: Kim Ye-won Speaks Out on Controversy with Lee Tae-im and Claims 'That Phrase is Copyrighted, It's Mine'
On 'Straight Talk with Tak Jae-hoon Season 2', Kim Ye-won appeared as a guest, addressing her controversy with Lee Tae-im from 8 years ago and sharing her recent efforts to strengthen her body and mind.
On May 4, an episode titled "Kim Ye-won, She Now Opens Her Eyes Wide to Be More Appealing" was aired on Straight Talk with Tak Jae-hoon Season 2. As soon as Kim Ye-won arrived, she laughed awkwardly, saying, "I can't believe I walked here on my own feet." She even prepared a gift for the show, which Tak Jae-hoon joked about not having a family to give it to. Kim Ye-won, feeling flustered, replied, "Regardless of whether you have a family or not..."
During the episode, Kim Ye-won complimented Tak Jae-hoon for his ability to turn negative stories into positive ones. When asked about her recent activities, she mentioned her acting work, to which Tak Jae-hoon commented on her role in the drama 'Queen Maker' featuring Kim Hee-ae. Kim Ye-won said she is taking things step by step, focusing on her lines.
Currently running a YouTube channel, Kim Ye-won mentioned how she is learning about directing and production. The conversation turned to the infamous video of her swearing controversy with Lee Tae-im from 2015. Kim Ye-won responded, flustered, "That phrase ('Unnie, I don't like you, okay?') is copyrighted, it belongs to me."
Tak Jae-hoon asked about the tension between her and Lee Tae-im at that time, to which Kim Ye-won replied that she couldn't believe the incident is still being talked about after so many years. When asked about a potential fight, Kim Ye-won stated that she can't fight, but Tak Jae-hoon teased her, implying she must have experience to know that.
The conversation continued with Tak Jae-hoon asking who was more scared during the confrontation, causing laughter. Kim Ye-won admitted that her memory of the incident was hazy, but she has since stopped using informal speech and tries to keep her eyes wide open. She shared her struggles with trying to speak her mind and fearing the consequences.
Kim Ye-won expressed her desire for peace, stating that there's nothing to gain from fighting. When asked what advice she would give to her past self, she said she would like to become a person who takes a 10-second pause before speaking. Kim Ye-won confessed that she has become calmer than before and has turned to meditation and yoga for mental management, adding that she enjoys listening to others' concerns and hardships.
