Police Chief Reveals Reasons for Delay in Yoo Ah-in's Drug Investigation: Multiple Types of Drugs Involved
Police revealed the reasons behind the delay in the investigation of actor Yoo Ah-in (real name: Uhm Hong-sik), who is accused of habitually taking drugs.
On the 1st, Police Chief Yoon Hee-geun discussed Yoo Ah-in's drug investigation at a press conference held at the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul.
Regarding the delay in Yoo Ah-in's conscription process, Police Chief Yoon said that the investigation is taking time since multiple types of drugs are involved.
Yoon explained, "Unlike the Don Spike case, where money was simply exchanged for drugs, Yoo Ah-in received a tip from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and is entangled in various issues related to pharmaceuticals."
He added, "There are many subjects to investigate and multiple items to analyze, including hospitals, for evidence. After completing the investigation, we plan to conduct additional investigations on related parties, including Yoo Ah-in."
In February, Yoo Ah-in underwent urine and hair tests for propofol abuse allegations. During this process, he tested positive for marijuana, ketamine, and cocaine, as well as propofol, and was investigated by the police.
After completing the search of his residence and those of his acquaintances, the police summoned Yoo Ah-in to the Mapo Police Station on March 27th and conducted an investigation that lasted approximately 12 hours. That day, Yoo Ah-in apologized in front of the reporters, saying, "I have told the truth that I can reveal. I deeply regret causing great disappointment to the many people who have loved me so far by standing in such a disgraceful position."
On April 10, a police official announced plans for additional summons at a press conference, saying, "We are currently investigating the accomplices who took drugs with Yoo Ah-in before the second summons. There are more parts to investigate for the accomplices, so we plan to summon them after the investigation."
On the 11, a Seoul Police official told Exsports News, "We recently discovered allegations of Yoo Ah-in's zolpidem use during the investigation. We plan to summon him soon for additional questioning." They also informed that further investigations will be conducted along with additional drug tests.
However, no significant progress has been made regarding Yoo Ah-in's investigation, raising public suspicions and interest. As the police's response is revealed, interest in the outcome of Yoo Ah-in's investigation is growing even more.
