BTS Suga Tops Oricon Weekly Digital Album Chart with 'D-DAY'
Top idol group BTS (RM, Jin, Jimin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jungkook) member Suga has reached the top of the Oricon chart again with his solo album "D-DAY."
According to the latest chart released by Oricon on April 26 (May 1 / counting period from April 17 to 23), "D-DAY," which Suga released on April 21 under the name Agust D, made a new entry and went straight to number one on the 'Weekly Digital Album Ranking' with 5,468 downloads.
"D-DAY" had previously topped Oricon's 'Daily Album Ranking' (April 21) immediately after its release. Following the success of the pre-release track "People Pt. 2 (feat. IU)," which went straight to number one on the "Daily Digital Single Ranking" (April 7) upon its release, Suga has swept various Oricon charts with "D-DAY."
Meanwhile, BTS has made new history on Oricon's Weekly Streaming Ranking. "Butter," released by BTS in May 2021, surpassed 500 million cumulative streams as it was counted with 1,229,676 weekly plays on the latest Oricon chart. As a result, BTS now holds two works that have surpassed 500 million streams, following "Dynamite." According to Oricon, BTS is the first artist in chart history to have two songs with over 500 million plays.
